short biography

Before commencing my own performance work, I have performed in numerous performances throughout Europe, notably with devised performance company mkultra, London, as well as f2 performance unit, Athens.

In 2009 I completed a practice-based Phd in Performing Arts at Middlesex University under Prof. Susan Melrose and Rosemary Butcher, researching the topic: The Invisible Expert Practitioner: Theorising Performer Expertise in Contemporary Performance-Making. I recently contributed to The Laban Sourcebook, ed. Dick McCaw, published in 2011. I have worked as researcher to Rosemary Butcher on her reinvention of Allan Kaprow’s 18 Happenings in 6 Parts, which took place at the South Bank Centre late November 2010, and is planned to lead to a publication.

Since 2005 I have been teaching undergraduates in Performing Arts at Middlesex University, Royal Holloway, Queen Mary, University of London, Rose Bruford College as well as Kingston University. I am currently a Lecturer in Theatre Arts at Middlesex University.

I am training and teaching regularly tai chi ch’uan at the Original Wu’s Style Tai Chi Ch’uan Academy, London, and enter national as well as international competitions. In 2011 I obtained a diploma in Tuina (Traditional Chinese Medicine Acupressure) from Asante Academy and am enjoying my new studies in Mandarin!

Since 2006 I have created several self-devised solo performances, which constitute a series of experimentations. The different works were shown at Chisenhale Dance Space, London, at the festival frisch eingetroffen at zeitraum exit, Mannheim (Germany), at the You and Your Work festival at the Cube Microplex, Bristol, at the Scene Pool festival at the Camden People’s Theatre, London, at the Performance Art Now/ Then and After at Chelsea College of Art, London, at the I Am Still Your Worst Nightmare festival at the Arnolfini, Bristol and at the emergency platform at the greenroom, Manchester. I have presented a full production of the series, commissioned by the greenroom and hÅb, Manchester, in April 2009, as well as in London in May 2009. In 2010 I collaborated with artist Christoph Lammers in a gallery event in Munich, and have recently worked with him as well as musician Nick Franglen in Helsinki.
